  • The Metanoia Project is seeking an experienced Executive Director who is well respected as a leader and has a passion for ensuring our unhoused neighbors experiencing homelessness have access to quality emergency shelter services.

    The Executive Director is responsible for developing the strategic direction in partnership with the Board of Directors and has overall strategic and operational responsibility for Metanoia’s seasonal shelter staff, programs, expansion, and achieving its organizational mission and financial objectives. The ideal candidate will be comfortable engaging in both strategic activities as well as taking a hands-on role regarding program execution and administrative issues.

    The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for Metanoia’s consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives. The Executive Director will be responsible for and must have strong skills and knowledge in the following:

    1. Leadership/Vision

    2. Human Resource Leadership

    3. Board Relations

    4. Development

    5. Communications & Public Relations

    6. Financial Management

    7. Administration

    Successful candidates will have:

    1. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a demonstrated track record of five years of progressive experience within the nonprofit sector

    2. Three years of direct supervisory experience, program development, coordination, and evaluation experience

    3. Three years of experience in providing advocacy and an understanding of the needs of the homeless population.

  • Part time, hourly

    Reports to: Executive Director

    The Grant Writer is a pivotal part-time position responsible for diligently seeking out and securing both foundation and government grants. This role is indispensable in guaranteeing the sustained operation of the organization throughout the critical winter shelter season. By adeptly navigating grant applications and cultivating relationships with funding entities, the Grant Writer plays a vital role in fulfilling our mission to provide essential services to those in need during the challenging winter months.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    1. Conduct prospect research to identity new funding opportunities

    2. Write and, with approval from Executive Director, submit proposal responses

    3. Create and manage a fundraising calendar/schedule

    4. Maintain pertinent records

    5. As able, contribute to other fundraising related tasks including marketing (social media, website) and data

    Qualifications:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent education, training, and/or (2) years of non-profit grant writing experience

    2. Ability to write clearly and informatively

  • Department: Fundraising

    Salary: Unpaid internship, Remote/hybrid, flexible schedule @ 10 hours a week

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Assist with fundraising efforts by calling and emailing current and prospective donors

    2. Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments including meal service calendar

    3. Support Executive Director and Grant Writer in communications and development tasks as able (social media, newsletters, etc.)

    Qualifications:

    1. Passionate about non-profit work and assisting those experiencing homelessness

    2. Organized in managing multiple tasks and scheduling

    3. Enthusiastic to expand your own skill set through fundraising and engagement efforts

    4. Highly digitally literate - experience and comfort using Google & Microsoft suites (spreadsheets, word processing) - additional database & software experience helpful

  • Reports to: Operations Manager and Executive Director

    Salary: $16/hr

    Position summary:

    As a Site Coordinator, you will hold a leadership position on our team, working together to accommodate individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness. Site Coordinators provide trauma-informed care and services in a flexible, compassionate, and responsible manner. Direct support and coaching to team members is a vital element of this position.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    1. Demonstrate personal and interpersonal qualities that support the core values and mission of The Metanoia Project.

    2. Commitment to provide services in a manner that is welcoming and appropriate to the special needs of those affected by trauma and severe mental illness.

    3. Work to build an environment that is supportive and conducive to growth and recovery.

    4. Complete all duties assigned on the coordinator checklist; complete and submit coordinator checklist in an accurate manner each shift.

    5. Oversee and distribute radios to team members.

    6. Provide management, support, and coaching to your designated team. Ensure the team is taking initiative to build compassionate relationships with each guest throughout their shift while simultaneously enforcing guest rules and upholding Metanoia procedures.

    7. Ensure the building is set-up properly for guests to eat meals, have coffee, visit service providers, and sleep.

    8. Build compassionate relationships with guests while providing care, coaching, assistance, and direct services.

    9. Ensure all shift reports are documented accurately and submitted at the end of every shift to Operations Manager and Executive Director.

    10. Stay accessible and visible to staff and guests during your shift.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    This is a seasonal role (November 15 - April 15) with non-traditional work hours, including weekends and holidays. Shifts are from 6PM - 1AM and 1AM - 8AM. Staff must be available for on-call emergency service.

  • Reports to: Operations Manager and Executive Director

    Salary: $15/hr

    Position summary:

    As a Homeless Support Specialist, you will have a vital role on our interdisciplinary team. You will work alongside our Site Coordinators and Volunteers to accommodate individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness, providing trauma-informed care and services in a flexible, compassionate, and responsible manner.

    This position provides the unique opportunity to work on the front lines of an innovative, grassroots organization working to bridge serious gaps in our community’s social service structure.

    Essential duties and responsibilities:

    1. Commitment to provide shelter services in a manner that is welcoming and appropriate to the special needs of those affected by homelessness, trauma, and severe mental illness.

    2. Work to build an environment that is supportive and conducive to growth and recovery.

    3. Ensure the building is set-up properly for guests to eat meals, have coffee, visit service providers, and sleep.

    4. Build compassionate relationships with guests while providing care, coaching, assistance, and direct services.

    5. Oversee outreach sheets, ensuring they are updated regularly and accurately. Identify guests who have not been reached and identify obstacles to guests’ needs being addressed and met.

    6. Make efforts to circumvent obstacles that have been identified in individual guests that hinder their ability to form relationships and utilize services; reach out to designated individuals and agencies for support and assistance when needed.

    7. Stay accessible and visible to staff and guests during your shift.
