Sara brings a wealth of knowledge with her extensive experience working in the nonprofit sector, human service/social service field, and at city, county, and state levels for the last 17 years. There is not a population she has not served in her career. She has showcased leadership skills, cultivated relationships based on trust, respect, and compassion, drove innovation, and solved challenges while pursuing change. Her ability to identify emerging trends and turn them into strategic advantages has been a driving force behind her success. Sara is passionate about community impact and helping underserved populations. Looking ahead, Sara is committed to sustainable growth, increased community awareness and outreach efforts, and providing the unsheltered homeless population with the tools and linkage to resources they need to become more self-sufficient and prepared for permanent housing.

 

Mariah powers (she/her)
board president

Mariah began working at Metanoia as a Homeless Support Specialist, then Site Coordinator, and finally Operations Manager. When she accepted a position at another organization she was offered a role on the Board of Directors and today serves as Interim Board President. Mariah has a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Akron. She is grateful to be part of an organization serving individuals experiencing homelessness in a way that no other place does.
